Have a copy of the job description. Prepare a list of potential questions related to that position and practice answering these with a friend or family member. List out your answers and be ready to answer anything that is asked of you.

Have your resume and cover letter with you. If the hiring manager refers to something you wrote on your resume, be prepared to know what they are looking at and how to answer the question.

Be in a quiet location. If you are expecting a phone interview during any stage after your application, answer the phone politely. Make sure you are in a quiet area and able to take the time to answer the questions without rushing yourself. If you are in a noisy place, not only will you mistake what the hiring manager says, they will not be able to hear you and puts them off the interview.

Research the company. The company will assume you already know a lot about them and expect there to be questions from you. If you do not know basic information about the company, the hiring manager may see this as you not being keen enough to join the company.
