Post-Interview – What Now?

The interview is over so what do you do next?

Sending a thank you email to follow-up would be a nice gesture and to add that finishing touch post-interview. Make sure you have the correct names of the interviewer and start by thanking them for their time. Specify the position you interviewed for and reemphasise main points of why you would be suitable for the role.

Following the thank you email, if you have not heard from the hiring manager within a week or two, you may call to follow up or to receive feedback on why you were not successful for the role.

Remember that many interviewees walk through the hiring manager’s door, it would be impossible for them to contact every single applicant to advise them of their outcome. So if there is no update, it’s safe to assume that it’s time to move on!

Reassess your interview and prepare for another one!
