ALG is currently recruiting a Maintenance Watch Engineer for a domestic airline in Australia.
The role is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Job Summary:
This role provides technical support in relation to maintenance work package's, aircraft defects, and engineering technical requests. The successful person will also need to provide oversight of deferred defects and coordinate resources and technical input to ensure closing actions occur within optimum timeframes, as well as provide assistance with aircraft charter requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promote High Dispatch Reliability & On-Time performance by ensuring AOG rectifications are expedited and coordinated efficiently to optimise scheduled operations.
  • Promote High Dispatch Reliability & On-Time performance by ensuring oversight and technical support of scheduled work packages and defects arising.
  • Line Scheduled Maintenance & Deferred Defects are reviewed prior to due date
  • Ensure Maintenance Records are reviewed upon same day as receipt or next working day
  • Provide support in relation to technical requests raised via the CAMO database.
  • Ensure the timely recovery of unserviceable aircraft thereby minimising disruption to the schedule.
  • Review all MELs and ensure that the MEL has been correctly applied.
  • Monitor the Deferred Defect report and MEL control document to ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of appropriately approved engineers, spares and tooling for MELs and deferred defects to ensure clearance within appropriate timeframes.
  • Where recovery of an aircraft impacts the schedule, formulate an action plan in liaison with operations to minimise disruption.
  • Advise stakeholders of operational limitations due to maintenance condition of effected aircraft.
  • Prompt identification & reporting of anomalies & issues to the Technical Support Manager & Continuing Airworthiness Manager
  • Liaise with Sub-Contract maintenance organisations as required to achieve operational requirements.
  • Monitor and liaise with Line Maintenance Managers, Senior Base Engineers, Duty Engineers and Supervisors from all stations to ensure effective communications and troubleshooting are carried out.
  • Liaise with Fleet Captains and crews to ensure queries and problems are recorded and action taken to the relevant channels.
  • Liaise with the Continuing Airworthiness Manager and applicable Departments and Sub-Contractors regarding applications for concessions, permissible unserviceability, one off variation to system of maintenance, permits to fly and design approvals.
  • Liaison with Quality Assurance regarding any temporary Maintenance Approvals, if required
  • Plan maintenance aspects of charters, including liaising with Maintenance Planning & Operations, arranging Engineering Support, create charter brief documents and sending required training packages.
  • Assist in development and revision of Engineering Training Packages
  • Advise Continuing Airworthiness Manager immediately when a Major Defect or non-compliance occurs when advised by Engineering.


Job Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum as Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
  • 4 years minimum in supervisory capacity
